Know any Portola “GreenAgers”?

The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department’s GreenAgers Program is part of our Youth Stewardship Program, which offers teens the chance to play an important role in helping our communities and improving our city’s green spaces. GreenAgers take field trips to different parks and open spaces around the city, meet with Rec and Park staff, research issues they are interested in, and use parks and open spaces to create projects based on what they find.

Participants will meet and work with teens their own age and gain crucial skills in leading workshops, networking, public speaking, teamwork, environmental education and community engagement. We’re currently looking for diverse FRESHMEN and SOPHOMORES who live or attend high schools in the following neighborhoods: Bayview, Bayview Heights, Crocker Amazon, Excelsior, Hunters Point, Mission Terrace, Outer Mission, Portola, Silver Terrace, and Visitacion Valley.

Download the application. Deadline extended to March 23. GreenAgers can earn $100/month during their nine months of Saturday morning commitment. Contact sfrpdgreenagers@gmail.com for more info.
