Take a walk into the Portola of the past

While researching a few things for the blog, I stumbled across a fantastic website that provides a map to view all the photographs that are publicly available from the San Francisco Public Library (SFPL), http://www.oldsf.org/. Essentially two smart and very dedicated people (@danvdk and @ravejk) either manually or via some clever code associated each image with a latitude and longitude so that they could then place them on an interactive Google map. The result is stunning and while there were not a great deal of photos from the Portola, the ones they did have were interesting and McLaren park is well represented. Click on the image of the map below to go to the website and browse the photos yourself.
