PNA Welcomes New Corridor Manager

Word comes from the Portola Neighborhood Association that they have hired a new corridor manger to fill the spot left by the much loved Jack Tse. Here is the press release from the PNA:

San Francisco, CA, Oct 6, 2015 — The Portola Neighborhood Association is excited to welcome its new corridor manager Luke Spray to the neighborhood.

Luke brings a strong background of community work to the PNA, having worked with SFSAFE in the Tenderloin and Bayview police districts as a Public Safety Coordinator. Luke has worked with a number of Community Safety Groups in the Tenderloin, empowering neighborhood stakeholders to improve their blocks, facilitating Neighborhood Watch meetings, and has taught hundreds of residents of all ages and demographics how they can improve their personal safety.

PNA Board Chair Chris Waddling said, “the PNA’s recruitment team had a deep pool of applicants from which to choose, but Luke stood out above the others for his enthusiasm for the Portola neighborhood and his knowledge of the City and it’s inner workings, allowing him to hit the ground running getting to know and work with residents and merchants on the San Bruno Ave corridor right away.”

The PNA is looking forward to Luke playing an active role in many projects, including The Avenue Theater façade restoration project; transportation and safety improvements to San Bruno Ave; and an exciting new pocket park to be located at the dead end of Thornton Ave near Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

The PNA Board will introduce Luke to the community at our upcoming Community meeting Thursday, October 22, 6PM at Palega Rec Center, 500 Felton St. Please come out to say hello and to give him a big Portola welcome

Welcome Luke, we look forward to continued improvement along SBA!
