From Kevin & Shae at FDR:

Fellow Beer Lovers:

F*CK VALENTINE’S DAY – LOVE BEER

  •
  • Ferment.Drink.Repeat (map)

Tired of cliché chocolate, flowers, forced candlelit dinners, and sappy “I Love you more than life itself cards?” So are we, so come join us in saying “F*ck Valentine’s Day, LOVE Beer!

We’ll have $1 off specials on our Dark and Sour beers for “Dark and Sour Hearts!” and we’ll also have Voodoo Dolls for you to decorate and stick in honor of your not-so-favorite-people while you rock to our playlist of anti-love songs.

F*ck Valentine’s Day, LOVE Beer. Yeah, we like that, ‘cause that’s how we roll.

He has a 10,000 song list and is super excited to meet the karaoke singers of the Portola. So you better start practicing in the shower, because it is on.

Think acoustic foot-stomping original tunes inspired by the likes of Jack White, Led Zeppelin, Alabama Shakes, The Rolling Stones and others in the unplugged roots rock style.  In the guise of a duo slinging stringed guitars, harmonica and kick drum for a beat, they’re ripe and ready to come to your town to spin tales of love, joy & mystery…

Amalgamation has performed at SF Porch Fest, Eat Real Food Festival, 19 Broadway, The Starry Plough, First Fridays Oakland Street Fest, DNA Lounge, The Great American Music Hall, The Maker Faire, Sunday Streets Festival, Elbo Room, The Hotel Utah, Amnesia, Doc’s Lab, Ocean Alehouse, and many more.

    One big ad for FDR

Hi Laura, yes, we happily promote FDR here at the Planet. They are a small business here in the Portola that is owned and operated by a Portola family. Shae & Kevin volunteer their brewery space for community meetings and events at no charge, they also volunteer their time to get involved in neighborhood events. You may only see FDR as a business but for many of us, it has become a place to meet neighbors and build community and we gladly promote them or any other business along the corridor that is making a positive impact on the Portola.
